Oscar Sanchez has worked professionally in the fitness industry since 2005. He earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Bioscience, and holds multiple health and fitness accreditations & licenses including:

• C.S.C.S. (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist)
• ACSM-CPT (Certified Personal Trainer)
• NASM-CES (Corrective Exercise Specialist)
• NASM-PES (Performance Enhancement Specialist)
• Certified Kettlebell Instructor
• Pre/Post Natal
• Adult, Child and Infant CPR

Oscar's career in personal training began as an undergraduate and collegiate athlete at California State University, Los Angeles. There, he participated in body mass labs (which focused on delaying the onset of lactate threshold in long duration exercise) and he began accumulating experience and credentials in personal training.  After graduation, Oscar trained under the supervision of Erick Landswick and Thad Stracker at Landswick Physical Therapy in Pasadena.  Working there for a year as a Physical Therapy aide, Oscar designed rehabilitation programs and taught clients pre- and post-surgery exercise routines.

Though he enjoyed working in rehabilitation, Oscar craved the independence and creativity of personal training. He began to work independently as a private personal trainer at 24-Hour Fitness, quickly advancing to a position at Equinox. During this time, Oscar also worked closely with award-winning trainer Marco Hernandez at his private gym in South Pasadena. Oscar went on to start his own company, focusing on personal training, corrective exercises, and rehabilitation… Stability Before Strength!

As a collegiate athlete in Track and Field, Oscar specialized in middle distance races (800m: 1:53.67). After college, he switched his focus to longer events and has competed in multiple 5Ks, marathons, and half marathons, often winning or placing in his division. In April of 2013, Oscar completed the prestigious Boston Marathon in 2 hours, 53 minutes, and 15 seconds. Sadly, the race that year was marred by the Boston Bombing tragedy.

When he’s not training clients, Oscar spends his time raising two daughters, Julianne (6) and Laura (4). He also enjoys running with his dog and loyal training partner, Oso. Oscar’s life-long passion for running and fitness has taught him the virtues of patience and perseverance—values which he hopes to instill in both his young girls as well as his clients.

For over 10 years I have been trusting Oscar to guide me to a healthier, stronger, and more stable body. As I crossed 60, I was in the best shape in 30 years. Oscar combines cardio, stretching, balance and resistance training. What a wonderful feeling it is to finish a session "totally spent" but also fully confident I will not be in miserable discomfort 24-48 hours later.

What I most appreciate about Oscar is he has the knowledge of muscle groups and the experience with training to get me to my peak performance regardless of my physical limitations at that time. Twice I have suffered bad accidents while skiing, resulting in broken bones, displaced shoulders, and torn ligaments. While maintaining a regular workout schedule, Oscar has modified the specific exercises to help me recover and resume my normal activities. In one-to-one sessions Oscar asks questions to check that I am feeling the right body parts firing.  He will change an angle or otherwise modify a movement to better focus on the target area. This “checking” insures I am not wasting my time or risking injury.

With Oscar I have improved my health and physical capabilities.

-Fred K. (Pasadena, CA)
